Job opening in Ann Arbor, MI area for a Sales Engineer.

Leading company in manufacturing is seeking an experienced and high-spirited Sales Engineer who can help sell products, systems, and services to a target tier-one OEM account.

The Sales Engineer is responsible for:

  • Familiarity with products that are categorized as Returnable Packaging with an emphasis in selling products in the desired environment.
  • Ability to efficiently provide precise and convenient quote to clients within a specific market.
    • Acquire quotation from client in specific market.
    • Analyze client specifications and cater to those specificities.
    • Determine price and an overall approach for reaching clients terms.
  • Build relationships with current clients and be able to sell to and establish a network at all levels of a company in order to facilitate strong business development.
  • Be able to close on a client within the market that will reach but not exceed budget and will meet the needs of the client.
  • Seek out potential customers and be able to contact regularly and give formal or informal presentations.
  • Connect efficiently and regularly with top management regarding quotations and the position of your activity.
  • Be able to build relationships with any contact and keep a good business relationship with those contacts.
  • Preparing and reporting sales activity reports as requested.
  • Ability to communicate with any department within the company to help better our focus on the customers needs.
  • Providing company with feedback on customer needs, which competitors to focus on, and other issues regarding a client.
  • Communicating the company’s vision, core values, and mission to exercise and promote our image.
  • Assist President in the layout of the sales plan for the specific market.
  • Traveling will be necessary to meet with customers and build relationships and also closing on a deal.
  • Other duties will be performed as required.

The Sales Engineer will require:

  • 4 year Bachelor degree (BA or BS) preferably within the Packaging field but will also look in engineering or some sort of technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience selling a product that has been engineered.
  • Deep technical knowledge or ability to sell technical products is a plus.
  • Experience dealing with automotive OEMs is a plus.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Multi-tasking ability is essential to this position.
  • Knowledge and strength in ability to accomplish mathematical, computer, or technical related duties or other tasks.
  • Overall ability to seek a desired outcome and be able to encourage and influence someone towards that goal.
  • Always looking to improve sales ability and be able to demonstrate you are a hard-working and diligent individual.
  • Must have means of transportation to travel to meet with a client and help develop those clients’
