Job opening near Ann Arbor for an Account Manager for a top manufacturer in the automotive industry. This company is hoping to hire one of the most dynamic account managers in automotive in order to help sustain a valued product line.
Overview:
Sales Account Manager will be a contact for customers regarding commercial activities. While being a key contact, the Account Manager will also be responsible for resolving issues of products, communicating customer needs to top management, and bringing about new business development. This position will be responsible for enhancing current customer relationships while also adding to the company’s book of business.
Job Duties:
- Organization of all quotation related activities for the product group.
- Coordinates with engineering, supply chain, and warehouses to ensure timely delivery of quotes.
- Consistent quotes across customers, including all aspects of price and profitability.
- Support ways to resolve quality, delivery and other issues brought forth.
- Grow sales profits by developing objectives and strategies based on customers.
- Consistently tracking customer price changes and keeping log of the changes.
- Accountable for 5 year forecast for customers as well as their annual budgeting.
- Always keeping profits in mind to ensure that product change prices bring profitability while supporting the changes.
- Assist with any other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Leadership skills and great with team building and ability to resolve conflicts.
- Ability to communicate effectively with top management as well as lower level personnel.
- Project management and organization skills must be intact in order to keep job orders running fluently.
- Understanding of the automotive business environment and the markets surrounding it.
- Customer relationship building skills and dynamism will be integral to this position.
- Automotive tier one market knowledge, as well as forecasting ability, will be essential to this position.
- The Account Manager must also have a general understanding of products and process technologies within the industry.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project.
- Ability to hit the ground running and contribute to the company’s book of business will be a big plus.
- Ability to work independently while multitasking.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a discipline close to or related to business management or engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of work experience in dealing with automotive OEM/Tier 1 companies.
- Working with product engineering and manufacturing within this industry.
