Principle Responsibilities:

  • This position will ensure the upkeep of data detecting and keeping track of plant operations with certain attention to equipment damages and stoppages.
  • Create preventative maintenance plans
  • Verify the downtime of machinery and certain plants to help determine the kind of action required to create a solution

  • Work with the Safety and Environmental team to help find risks to the plant and determine the best way to rectify those risks
  • This position will report to the Maintenance Manager
  • The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will perform other duties as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • This position will require at least 4 years of experience doing maintenance work in a large production facility
  • Automotive industry experience is a plus
  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (technical area of study, engineering preferred)
  • Technical/Mechanical background with a strong parts knowledge is essential to this position
  • Knowledge of Autocad is a plus

  • The role will need to research and analyze customer orders and specifications in order to create the best possible product for customers.
  • The position will be utilizing Solidworks 3D to design the machines.
  • The Mechanical Design Engineer must also create Bills of Material (BoM).
  • The role will need to assist other workers on technical processes involving the machines.
  • The position must work with the sales and marketing departments in order to provide a technical and engineering perspective to the product.
  • The Mechanical Design Engineer must also occasionally use customer service skills to communicate with the company’s various clients.
  • The position will need to establish priorities for multiple projects.
  • The role will fulfill any other jobs as assigned and will not need to travel outside of Midland, Michigan.
Mechanical Design Engineer (Midland Area) Job Requirements:

  • A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field is required for this job.
  • Between 2 and 5 years of job experience in mechanical design.
  • A high level of proficiency in Solidworks 3D modeling software.
  • Great customer service skills for occasions where client interaction is a part of the project.
  • Being a mechanical design position, high creativity and problem-solving skills are needed to be successful.
