Detroit SQA Engineer Overview:
The SQA Engineer will evaluate products that arrive at the Detroit, Michigan facility and work to improve the quality of supplied goods through partnering with current suppliers and selecting new suppliers to improve the quality of goods. The SQA Engineer will work in the Quality Assurance department in Detroit, Michigan and report to the SQA Engineer, who is also based in Detroit.
Detroit SQA Engineer Job Opening
- The SQA Engineer will provide advisement during the supplier evaluation and selection process for new and current suppliers.
- The SQA Engineer will perform Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), specifically supplier development, assessing suppliers, performing audits on supplier sites, recording data on score cards, and following up on actions to ensure corrections were made.
- The SQA Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in Champion Problem Solving and work on emergency response for assigned suppliers.
- The SQA Engineer will keep and maintain records on all problem solving corrections that were implemented, follow up to ensure solutions were effective.
- The SQA Engineer will ensure that all suppliers’ provided goods are compliant with the company’s quality standards
SQA Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree from an accredited college or university in engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills so as to convey issues to colleagues, managers, and suppliers.
- Able to travel for up to 60% of on the job time. 60% of the travel will be local while the remaining forty percent of travel will be US and international travel.
- Accelerated Advance Product Quality Planning skills, knowledge of quality tools, and an advanced familiarity with Core Tools.
- Possession of an Internal Quality Auditor certification or an exceptional level of audit job experience.
- An advanced understanding of Statistical Process Control principals.
- Six Sigma training so as to properly understand the tools for analysis.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry so as to understand customers’ requirements and technical specifications.
- A demonstrated experience with and familiarity with operations management systems such as (5s methodology, Trusted Platform Module, Lean manufacturing principles, etc.)
- Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish would be strongly desired for this job.
- Six Sigma certification would be desired for this job.
