Detroit Supply Chain Engineer Overview:
The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will work to ensure that the logistics structure between the vendors, the company, and the customer base are functioning as efficiently as possible. The Supply Chain Engineer will ensure that cost estimates and quotes are delivered to concerned parties promptly. The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will interface regularly with purchasing staff, commodity managers, sales personnel, and product engineers to maximize the competitiveness of sourcing contracts.
Detroit Supply Chain Engineer Job Opening
- The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will work with sales personnel to develop a business quote process and bills of materials based on information given by the customer.
- Foster and strengthen business relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ensure that information is circulated between internal and external stakeholders concerning supply chain issues and processes.
- The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will partner with the sourcing personnel to create and carry out a strategy of assigned categories.
- Research and pursue new technologies to increase quality and lower costs.
- Lead and take part in VA/VE process.
- The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will create technology road maps and work with suppliers to improve technology.
- Organize discussions on new technologies with members of the supplier network.
Supply Chain Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in the field of mechanical or industrial engineering from an accredited university.
- Possession of a Master of Business Administration or another graduate degree would be preferable for this job.
- At least two years of experience in a manufacturing program management role.
- At least two years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- At Least two years of experience in a global manufacturing company.
- Six Sigma Green Belt training and certification or highly.
- Spanish or Mandarin language skills would be preferable.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, able to analyze data with Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
