Detroit Program Manager Overview:

The Detroit Program Manager will lead a team of cross functional personnel to lead programs from development through production launch. The Detroit Program Manager will delegate duties and priorities across the program team in order to maximize efficiency and meet all program deadlines. The Program Manager will develop a program budget and ensure that all expense stay within the bounds of that budget. The Program Manager will provide regular program updates and progress reports to all relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The Detroit Program Manager with direct and lead program staff in order to complete goals and benchmarks ahead of deadlines while working at the Michigan site.
Take part and oversee in the creation of prototypes.
Identify and record issues and errors that arise during the process of building a prototype.
The Detroit, Michigan Program Manager will guide and manage the research and development process the program with consideration for the product specification and applications, develop potential designs.
Oversee the process of testing and design validation in order to ensure all product requirements and quality standards are met.
Participate in the development of engineering documents.

Lead the process of developing tooling for prototype builds.
Develop instructions and procedure documents for prototype assembly
Partner with manufacturing personnel throughout the prototype build process.
Manager the engineering change process and evaluate all pre-production sign offs.

Program Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

A four year degree in the field of engineering, preferably mechanical, from an accredited institution.
At least five years of experience automotive parts engineering experience.
Familiar with injection molding processes and procedures.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organization skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with concurrent deadlines.
Lean six sigma training or certification would be preferable for this role.
Familiar with automotive supply sourcing and purchasing.
Able to administer a budget.
