Detroit Quality Engineer Overview:
The Quality Engineer shall direct and monitor the activities of the quality technicians in addition to performing a number of quality assurance functions to ensure products produced meet all company and external standards. The Detroit Quality Engineer will partner with customers and internal staff to identify and solve defects and nonconformance issues. This role will interface often with Manufacturing Engineers to improve the production process.

- Field all complaints and concerns originating from OEM customers.
- The Quality Engineer respond to reports of nonconforming parts from OEM customers at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- Document and maintain a database of all customer and supplier complaints.
- The Quality Engineer inspect modules for quality at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- Field customer complaints, ensure customers are satisfied.
- The Quality Engineer must distribute and keep EC orders.
- Develop and refine module and part documentation and approval processes.
- Develop and improve procedures to identify and rectify non-conforming parts.
- Document and maintain record of all documentation concerning quality claims.
- The Quality Engineer assemble and lead quality auditing teams for particular customers.
- Record initial quality score in order to improve processes.
- Use customer feedback to influence improvement plans.
- The Quality Engineer notify suppliers of sub-standard products, and work to improve supplier relationship or partner with senior plant personnel to establish new relationships.
- Schedule and lead quality improvement meetings.
- The Quality Engineer must analyze results of quality tests.
- Keep and update the plant quality manual.
- Serve as main document coordinator for ISO audits.
Quality Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A college or university degree in a technical discipline is required for this job.
- A minimum of five years job experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Job experience in a manufacturing environment producing electronic parts for automotive applications.
- Able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Comfortable communication with plant staff, senior personnel, colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Able to operate a computer and standard office programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiar with database upkeep.
- Familiarity with ISO, especially ISO/TS
- Deep familiarity with quality testing and measurement acquisition tools.
- Thorough understanding of mathematical principles and statistics to properly measure quality.
