Overview:
The Detroit Human Resources Representative will administer payroll and support/administer the company’s workforce analytics database. This particular HR Representative job will primarily be working with the workforce management software and use it to evaluate staffing, productivity, and areas of improvement. Reports to the Director of HR and the HR manager. The job will also be responsible for ensuring that payroll is completed regularly and on time.
Detroit HR Representative Job Opening
- The HR Representative will serve as a subject matter export on Kronos Workforce Management Software at the greater Detroit site.
- Assist HR staff and advise on the best uses of the Kronos software and its analytics functions.
- The HR Representative will provide support to other staff members utilizing the Kronos Workforce Management software.
- Administer weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees (half to three quarters of the staff are weekly union employees).
- Assist in transferring new collective bargaining agreement data into Kronos, previous experience updating Kronos with new collective bargaining agreements is a strong plus.
- The HR Representative will use Kronos to administer weekly payroll.
- Assist other HR staff members in circulating new programs, procedures, and company goals to other staff members.
- The HR Representative will identify and solve any issues that may arise in the payroll.
- Work in partnership with another HR staff member(s) to administer payroll.
- The HR Representative will assist in labor relations with other members of the Detroit, Michigan HR department.
HR Representative (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- Five years of job experience working in Human Resources for a company with unionized employees.
- A minimum of three years job experience working with Kronos, preferably working as a subject matter expert on the software.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with analytics and complex numbers.
- Thorough understanding Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Experience administering payroll in a collective bargaining setting with a multitude of employees.
- A positive, self-motivated attitude.
- Eagerness to assist other employees and work in a team.
- A creative mindset to solve problems with unconventional solutions.
- Affinity for analysis and data preferential.
