Atlanta Industrial Engineer Overview:
The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will modify, improve, and develop manufacturing systems within the facility. This person shall partner with many other members of personnel across several departments. The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will design manufacturing processes to maximize safety, efficiency, and the use of labor. The Atlanta Industrial engineer shall perform time studies in order to identify areas needing improvement within the manufacturing system. The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will report to the the Director of Industrial Engineering.
Atlanta Industrial Engineer Job Opening
- The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will design, re-design, and modify manufacturing lines within the facility.
- Take part in investigations after safety accidents, take measures to prevent any further accidents.
- Keep record of all manufacturing configurations designed and implemented.
- The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will work with manufacturing personnel to maximize the efficiency of each work station.
- Perform time studies on manufacturing lines and high light areas where changes could boost efficiency.
- Assist quality engineers to minimize defects and non-conforming parts.
- Take part and serve as a leader in continuous improvement events or presentations.
- The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will work with product development staff to prepare for the launch of new products.
- Make requests for new equipment for manufacturing systems as needed.
- Ensure that all manufacturing systems comply with internal and external regulations.
Industrial Engineer (Atlanta Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- At least four years of industrial engineering experience.
- Familiar with metals manufacturing.
- Experience working in an ISO facility.
- Proven commitment to safety.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt training and certification would be preferable for this job.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage many tasks, priorities, and appointments.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbally.
- Able to work with personnel from the shop floor to senior management.
- Excellent CAD and 3D modeling skills.
- Familiar with OSHA regulations and standards.
- A collaborative mindset.
