Atlanta Mechanical Engineer Overview:

The Atlanta, Georgia Mechanical Engineer will serve as a member of the engineering department within the Atlanta office. The Atlanta Mechanical Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager. The Mechanical Engineer shall design mechanical assemblies for new products as well as improve the design of products already in the market. The Atlanta, Georgia Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with other staff members to critique and modify designs. This Atlanta job will have regular business hours and overtime. 

Atlanta Mechanical Engineer Job Opening

• Serves as a member of the engineering team to design mechanical assemblies of products.
• The Atlanta Mechanical engineer will partner with other engineers to troubleshoot issues that arise as the product is prototyped through the product launch.
• Develop new designs to mitigate any errors, maintain CAD files of each design.
• Perform experiments on the product, acquire data and interpret the data to draw conclusions for future designs with other members on the Atlanta Engineering Staff..
• The Mechanical Engineer shall perform tests on the final product, identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present estimated budgets for the product.
• Alter and improve designs to better match customers’ requirements and specifications.
• The Mechanical Engineer will take part in early product planning meetings with other Atlanta Engineering staff.
• Present insight on product designs, recommend changes.
• Perform other jobs as directed by the Engineering Manager.
• Maintain a current knowledge of the field of mechanical engineer, as well as the company products and industries the company provides products to.

Mechanical Engineer (Atlanta Area) Job Requirements:

• A four year degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Experience designing materials handling systems or conveyors for large scale applications preferred for this job.
• Experience designing capital equipment preferred for this job.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.
• Excellent math skills.
• Design for Six Sigma training would be preferred for this job, certification would also be beneficial.
• Highly proficient with AutoCAD and 3D Modeling Software.
• Works well with a collaborative team of engineers designing different parts of a product.
