The Chicago Engineering Manager will work with senior staff to execute activities and carry out strategic initiatives. The Chicago Engineering Manager will direct and mentor the engineering staff members to ensure they deliver high-quality work on deadline. Develop standard practices and procedures for the engineering department. The Chicago Engineering Manager will take part in the hiring process for engineering staff members. Work with marketing and sales to ensure products meet client needs.
Chicago Engineering Manager Job Opening:
- The Chicago Engineering manager will oversee the process of providing cost and process estimates for customers.
- Work with the engineering team to design stamping tooling, fixtures, gages, and other materials as necessary.
- Oversee the process of tool building. Provide assistance to junior engineers. Troubleshoot issues.
- The Chicago Engineering Manager will evaluate processes and seek to identify areas where costs could be minimized.
- Ensure that tooling is well kept and maintenance occurs regularly.
- Lead or manage capital projects, participate in the development and selection of tooling or machinery.
- Participate in quality audits, provide assistance during PPAP.
- The Chicago Engineering Manager will participate in sales processes by providing technical expertise and meeting with customers as necessary.
Engineering Manager (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills.
- Familiar with GD&T.
- At least 8 years of related experience.
- At least four years of experience supervising a team of engineers.
- Great problem-solving skills, able to diagnose and solve tooling problems.
- Familiar with manufacturing using non-ferrous metals.
- Heat treating experience.
