We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, repairs, fabrication, and supporting continuous facility operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Position Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment operating efficiently.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and maintain equipment records.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and equipment breakdowns.
Equipment & Facility Support
- Coordinate major equipment repairs with facility management.
- Fabricate components and complete small maintenance projects as needed.
- Assess equipment for preventive maintenance needs and potential failure points.
- Report mechanical and electrical issues to management, including situations requiring production shutdowns.
Contractor & Safety Coordination
- Oversee contractors to ensure work is completed safely and according to quality specifications.
- Support safety and quality teams with regulatory compliance.
- Participate as a member of the facility safety team.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA, food safety, and other applicable workplace requirements.
Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with operations and management teams regarding equipment issues and facility concerns.
- Follow up on corrective actions requiring maintenance support.
- Participate in required training and support other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Prerequisites
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of LOTO and other workplace safety protocols.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights.
- Ability to work in narrow or confined spaces.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Associate or technical degree in a relevant field.
- Welding certification.
- Electrical certification.
- Experience with welding, electrical systems, bearings, chains, shafts, belts, and electric motors.
- Experience maintaining processing equipment such as mixers, screw conveyors, hammer mills, and grain-handling equipment.
