  • Communicate often with customers to ensure their satisfaction through out the development of the packaging.
  • Set deadlines for project deliverables and meet those deadlines for all new launches and re-launches.
  • Develop cost analyses for new projects and redesigns with the assistance of sales and industrial engineering.
  • Interface with suppliers to minimize esthetic, functionality, or quality issues.
  • Create a bill of materials for all new projects.
  • Obtain all artwork from customers and handle artwork changes.
  • Set standards, limits, and color ranges for components.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the director of engineering.
Packaging Engineer (New York Area) Job Requirements:
  • Four year degree in packaging engineering or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of packaging engineering experience for a personal care/consumer goods company.
  • Three years of management experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft excel, word, and other office programs
  • Pallet pattern software experience.
  • Familiar working with a vendor base.
  • Understanding of packaging testing.
  • Comfortable working both independently and with a team.
  • Great organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
