New York City Manufacturing Engineer Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will evaluate and improve current manufacturing processes and will develop processes for new product launches. The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the General manager and shall work with personnel throughout the facility as necessary in developing or improving processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will also provide quotes on labor and plant costs for new and ongoing manufacturing processes.

- The Manufacturing Engineer will provide quotes and analysis on labor costs for new and ongoing manufacturing processes.
- Prior to new product launch, work with Quality, Production, and Maintenance staff in line trials for new projects. Identify and resolve quality problems. Improve production time and cost where feasible.
- When manufacturing or engineering problems arise, notify appropriate staff throughout Quality, Maintenance, Production, Research & Development, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, and the client, as necessary.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will create, maintain, and refine metrics to measure work and productivity. Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Develop and upkeep labor standards for new and existing projects. Maintain records in the company database.
- Plan, lead, and complete projects aimed to improving efficiency of processes.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will organize and lead meetings with staff to minimize downtime and rectify issues.
- Complete a profitability analysis on each SKU, recommending cost increases when appropriate.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will prepare and implement cost savings strategies in regards to capacity, efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety.
- Serve on Safety, Quality, and Operations Improvement committees.
Manufacturing Engineer (New York City) Job Requirements:
- Two to three years of job experience in an engineering or project engineering role, preferably for a manufacturer of consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, life science products, cosmetics, or a similar goods.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing systems, operations, and equipment.
- Exceptional organizational abilities. Demonstrated history of developing plans, following through on dead lines, and delivering desired results.
- Excellent statistical reasoning skills. Able to gather information, determine facts, and evaluate options.
- Proven ability to lead time and motion studies.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Good communication skills, written and verbally. Able to build productive relationships with internal and external personnel.
