Grand Rapids Process Engineer Overview:
The Grand Rapids Process Engineer will design and refine the metal casting process within the facility. The Grand Rapids Process Engineer will work with product development as well as manufacturing staff to identify the ideal and most efficient manufacturing processes. The Process engineer will also design processes in order to maximize the quality of products while minimizing the cost and maximizing the safety of the process.
Grand Rapids Process Engineer Job Opening
- The Grand Rapids Process engineer will observe and evaluate current manufacturing processes and provide recommendations to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Work with product development and engineering staff to plan and develop manufacturing processes for new products and modified products.
- Work closely with manufacturing staff to ensure processes are being performed in compliance with the appropriate procedures.
- The Grand Rapids Process Engineer will consistently explore and suggest continuous improvement measures for the manufacturing process.
- Ensure that customers are satisfied with the level of quality of manufactured products.
- Interface with quality management personnel to ensure that all quality standards are being met or exceeded.
- The Grand Rapids Process Engineer will develop and lead trainings for manufacturing personnel when launching or refining a process.
Process Engineer (Grand Rapids Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in the field of engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- At least five years of experience with metal castings and metal manufacturing, as well as a demonstrated understanding of the processes and methods for metal castings.
- A proven understanding of statistical process control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills.
- Understanding of Lean or Six Sigma principles, certification would be preferable.
- A high level of motivation and a results-oriented mindset.
- A proven ability to work well in a team.
- Proven understanding of manufacturing safety principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office programs as well as CAD software.
