Detroit Quality Manager Overview:
The Detroit Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining all quality certifications within the facility. The Quality Manager will investigate all quality issues and will partner with plant personnel to rectify systematic quality issues. In certain quality investigations, the Quality Manager will partner with manufacturing personnel at supplier sites to ensure that all quality standards are being met. The Detroit Quality Manager is a leader in all continuous improvement projects and will assist in new program launches.

- The Detroit Quality Manager will check production samples to ensure they meet engineering specifications.
- Work with mold makers to ensure the process parameters are appropriate.
- Utilize sample part data to predict potential issues before they occur.
- The Detroit Quality Manager will ensure that quality standards and issues are understood by appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that all quality personnel are properly trained to perform all responsibilities.
- Use company quality alert system to share quality-related information.
- Develop and circulate quality reports to appropriate staff members.
- Notify appropriate personnel if quality issues may be caused by design, tooling, or manufacturing along with documentation and data.
- Lead or take part in meetings after production launch to share information that was learned through the process.
- Evaluate products against customer test requirement to check and confirm compliance.
- Track quality complaints and ensure problems are solved.
Quality Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least eight years of experience in a quality role in a consumer goods environment.
- At least three years of management experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Familiar with plastic injection molding processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Understanding of common quality principles, theories, and tools.
- A positive attitude that can lead and motivate others.
- Detail-oriented personality.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office; particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
- Basic exposure to Solidworks would be preferable.
