Detroit Account Manager Overview:
The Detroit Account Manager will increase sales and market share for the company by identifying prospective customers and improving the business relationship with current customers. The Detroit Account Manager will introduce new products to customers and introduce the company to prospective customers. The Account Manager will develop sales presentations. The Account Manager will meet regularly with customers to identify their needs and work with product development and engineering to meet those needs.

- The Detroit Account Manager will participate in the creation and implementation of a business strategy for the assigned market segment.
- Develop a plan and procedure to stimulate business growth.
- Perform market research to identify areas where the company find new customers.
- The Detroit Account Manager will meet customer growth targets through utilizing a “Business Case Approach.”
- Develop relationships with customers’ engineering and purchasing personnel.
- Lead the review of all contracts prior to acceptance.
- The Detroit Account Manager will be the main contact for the customer and will ensure that agreements and contracts are adhered to.
- Notify customers of updated pricing and tooling information after the business has been awarded.
- Interface with customer purchasing personnel throughout the tooling audit process.
- Develop and manage an Open Commercial Issues matrix.
Account Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in a field related to business or engineering from an accredited university.
- At least five years of experience in technical sales, product development, or engineering.
- Familiarity with metal or plastic automotive sales.
- Previous experience working with an automotive supplier.
- Able to identify customer needs and relay those needs to engineering and product development personnel.
- Previous experience providing cost estimates.
- Understanding of automotive purchasing procedures, as well as quality and supplier requirements.
- Strong communication skills, able to clearly and concisely describe technical details.
- Effective organizational skills, able to reach benchmarks and objectives for a multitude of projects concurrently.
- Able to travel for the position.
