The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will plan and develop manufacturing processes in order to maximize the space within the plant while keeping the working environment safe and efficient. The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will partner quality personnel to identify areas where the process could be improved to rectify any quality errors or potential concerns. The Atlanta Industrial Engineer will be a key player in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
Atlanta Industrial Engineer Job Opening
- The Industrial Engineer will plan, design, develop, and refine all manufacturing processes within the facility.
- Perform time studies to identify areas of improvement within the plant.
- Check quality results regularly in order to identify indication of potential issues.
- The Industrial Engineer will work with Quality personnel to investigate and solve all quality issues.
- Document and control all branch procedures in order to maintain quality certification.
- Perform regular stock checks in order to ensure the integrity of intentory counts.
- Partner with product development staff during prototype builds.
- Work with product development team throughout the product launch process in order to develop a high quality product with a safe and efficient manufacturing process.
- Survey personnel periodically to identify areas where manufacturing processes could be made more ergonomic.
- Regularly evaluate the manufacturing system to identify potential safety hazards.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Industrial Engineer (Atlanta Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least four years of experience in an industrial engineering role.
- Experience with metals manufacturing.
- Familiar with the production part approval process.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Lean Six Sigma training and certification would be strongly preferred for this position.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional technical and mathematical skills.
- Familiar with the principles of continuous flow, shadow boards, poka-yoke, value stream mapping, and other areas.
- A team oriented mindset, enjoys collaborating with others.
