Detroit CNC Programmer Overview:
The Detroit, Michigan CNC Programmer will develop programs using G&M codes to meet the product’s specifications for various jobs. The CNC programmer shall also assist machinists in training them with set-up and operation of the CNC mills and lathes as a part of the job. The CNC programmer will perform all necessary code changes to rectify and manufacturing errors at the Detroit, Michigan plant.

- The CNC Programmer must analyze engineering plans, blue prints, materials, specifications and other details to determine the proper tooling and coding for each job.
- Develop a program and upload it to mills and lathes manually at the machine, able to understand a write G&M codes from scratch. This will require basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Perform machine set up, install and adjust chunks, attachments, tools, collets, and vices at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- The CNC Programmer loads material into the machine for manufacturing jobs.
- Check settings and job specifications prior to running, and after the product has been machined.
- Observing and checking the machining to identify malfunctions or errors in the job process. Able to identify coding problems and correct them promptly to minimize wasted materials or time.
- Ensures that all safety standards, rules, and regulations are followed within the Detroit, Michigan plant. Notify proper supervision if standards are not met.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mills and lathes, notify proper staff of any malfunctions, and fill out the proper online form for repair requests.
- Able to utilize inspection equipment to verify machining specifications at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
CNC Programmer (Detroit Area)Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma minimum, associate’s degree would be beneficial for this CNC Programmer job.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and write G & M codes 3-axis mills and lathes, Fanuc controls experience would be beneficial.
- Able to understand complex mathematical concepts and formulas.
- Able to perform calculations necessary to make corrective actions to manufacturing processes.
- Ability to lift and load material into the machine at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read blue prints, manuals, technical information, and business correspondence.
- A positive attitude, able to work with little direction for extended periods of time.
