Detroit Production Manager Overview: 

The Production Manager shall organize and guide the efforts of the company’s employees, particularly the machining and deburring teams at the Detroit, Michigan site. The Production Manager shall ensure that all the employees are properly trained and that errors shall be corrected through proper coaching.

Detroit Production Manager Job Opening

  • Supervise the employees in the Machining & Deburring department to ensure that all standards of quality are met, that the proper quantity of products are produced, and schedules are maintained. Also, the Production Manager shall work to ensure all work is done in line with company values.
  • The Production Manager shall collaborate with and coach team leaders in the Machining and Deburring department in order to ensure all production is in line with standards and that goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Machining & Deburring department and the front office, shipping department, engineering team, quality, and other production teams.
  • The Production Manager shall handle staffing functions such as interviewing, hiring, and training. Perform evaluations and administer disciplinary measures. Field employee or management complaints and rectify issues.
  • Assign work to employees and direct them as necessary.
  • Rectify production, equipment, and systems issues. Change work instructions to avoid re-occurring issues.
  • The Production Manager shall ensure that employees are properly trained on equipment by keeping record of trainings.
  • Follow practices and standards to ensure ISO 9001:2000 compliance.
  • Utilize the company ERP system to make sure inventory count on the computer is accurate to the inventory on the floor.
  • The Production Manager shall conduct cycle counts of inventory.
  • Identify and assist in implementing solutions related to engineering and the overall process.
Production Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or some discipline related to manufacturing is required for this job.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of how to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate tasks to ensure that deadlines are met without sacrificing quality.
  • Some engineering knowledge is essential for this job.

  • Oversee all automated process. Program and edit CNCs and PLCs. Train operators on their machines.

Traverse City Production Manager Overview:

The production manager will direct, supervise, and assist production supervisors within an assigned area of the facility. As a leader in the company, the the Production Manager will take part in quality audits, trainings, and other activities as assigned and necessary. The Production Manager will ensure that employees are reaching production and development goals. 

Traverse City Production Manager Job Opening

  • The Traverse City Production Manager will direct, supervise, and mentor production supervisors and personnel within the facility.
  • Assist in developing production schedules in order to meet requirements.
  • Work with quality personnel to identify and rectify quality-related issues.
  • The Traverse City Production manager will interface with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment is regularly maintained and safe.
  • Inform production managers of important policy or process changes.
  • Develop and lead in training for production managers as well as production personnel
  • The Traverse City Production Manager will take part in the hiring process and interview for selected personnel.
  • Take part in yearly evaluations of production supervisors, identify successes, short comings, and goals for each year.
  • Assist in new product launches, performing assigned tasks and ensuring the staff is adequately trained for launch.
  • The Traverse City Production Manager will implement new policies and strategies to reach company goals.
  • Determine what corrective actions should be taken for poor performing personnel within the assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Production Manager (Traverse City Area) Job Requirements:
  • A four year degree from an accredited university.
  • Great communication skills with personnel at varying levels.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Four to five years of experience as a production manager, experience in an automotive experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality tools, principles, or standards.
  • Familiarity with rubber and plastic manufacturing, especially extrusion and injection molding.
  • Experience managing a team of fifty to eighty indirect reports.
  • Great analytical reasoning skills.
  • Lean and Six Sigma training, certification would be preferred.
