- Develop, review, and detail specifications for company project, products, and other processes for different job orders.
- The Applications Engineer must record designs in the company design database, including all specifications, application charts, relevant calculations, and assessments of components for this job.
- For this Saginaw, Michigan job, the Applications Engineer must build professional relationships with customers, and communicate with them to understand their requirements and specifications, in writing, over the phone, and during visits to the customer site and to the company office.
- The Applications Engineer must record and communicate the customer requirements and specifications to all appropriate staff on the project, particularly the engineering staff.
- Serve as a key leader throughout the project management process. Develop cost saving processes and product improvements, remedy field/manufacturing/customer issues.
- Utilize autoCAD/mastercam to develop and evaluate machine and process designs while working out of the Saginaw, Michigan.
- The Applications Engineer must collaborate in the implementation of new products and processes.
- Represent the company at industry related trade shows or other events outside of greater Saginaw, Michigan.
- Maintain a level of knowledge about industry trends and innovations through continuous education, reading industry journals, and other periodicals.
Applications Engineer (Saginaw Area) Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology is strongly preferred for this position.
- Job experience designing machinery or other heavy equipment is strongly preferred.
- Job experience working with customers is strongly preferred
- Exceptional skill with Mastercam/AutoCAD/3D Modeling software.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, over the phone, in person, and through writing.
- Excellent computer skills, able to use Microsoft office programs, company design databases, and all design software.
- An attention to detail, comfortability managing projects with extended implementation timelines, able to remain focused throughout the process.
- Able to work effectively with personnel across departments, internally and externally.
