Detroit Project Manager Overview:
The Detroit Project Manager will organize and lead projects geared toward continuously improving processes and procedures. The Project Manager will develop solutions for supply chain related problems and lead teams to implement the solutions. The Detroit Project manager will work closely with management as well as customers to identify areas where improvement is needed. The Detroit Project Manager will develop schedules for the project and delegate tasks to ensure that all benchmarks are met on time and the project remains within budget.
Detroit Project Manager Job Opening:
- The Detroit Project Manager will gather data and analyze it to make future decisions.
- Analyze processes and create maps and/or documents to find process gaps and potential solutions.
- Utilize tools and internal methodologies to develop transportation operation procedures.
- The Detroit Project Manager will develop performance metrics and gather data for them.
- Analyze the company’s supply chain and make suggestions on potential improvements.
- Partner with Sales personnel to improve the design and quality of the supply chain in order to benefit sales processes.
- The Detroit Project Manager will assist with sales proposals and presentations for business development opportunities.
- Partner with operations management personnel to select the most effective and efficient solutions.
- Oversee multiple projects with varying staffs simultaneously.
- Develop plans and projects based on lean principles.
Project Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in business, logistics, or industrial engineering from an accredited university.
- At least four years of closely related experience, or eight years if the candidate does not have a four year degree.
- Exceptional familiarity with Microsoft Excel, particularly utilizing formulas, data tables, queries, pivot charts, data management, custom functions, and analysis.
- High level of familiarity with Microsoft Word, particularly short cuts, merge, merge queries, macros, templates, table techniques, and utilizing images and text.
- APICS certification would be preferred for this job.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification would be preferred for this job.
- Proven history of successful project management.
- Previous experience administering continuous improvement programs.
