Detroit General Manager Overview:
The Detroit General Manager will oversee and guide all company operations within North America. The Detroit General Manager work with the International executive team to determine the main objectives for the North American business. The Detroit General Manager will create and administer annual budgets and ensure that the company reaches financial objectives. The Detroit General Manager will build and improve the management staff to reach all company goals.
Detroit General Manager Job Opening:
- The Detroit General Manager will work with the International executive team as well as the company’s executive team to determine objectives and strategies.
- Develop and administer annual budgets, ensure that operations do not exceed the budget.
- Develop plans and assign tasks to personnel to ensure that objectives are met.
- The Detroit General Manager will drive hiring and assist in the selection of senior staff. Communicate priorities to Human Resources and hiring managers for filling other positions.
- Ensure that all company functions are in accordance with internal and external standards and regulations.
- Maintain an exceptional level of knowledge of the industry and the market.
- Host client visits when necessary.
- The Detroit General Manager will oversee major projects and regularly communicate with project managers to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Initiate process improvement projects.
General Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in a discipline of business or engineering from an accredited institution.
- An advanced degree in business would be preferable for this job.
- At least ten years of progressive manufacturing experience.
- At least 6 years of management experience.
- Lean Six Sigma training and certification would be preferable for this position.
- Proven project management experience, PMP certification would be preferable.
- Experience overseeing the financial performance of a business.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven history as a leader and a team builder, able to develop a staff.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Able to motive and inspire others.
- Exceptional organization and decision making skills.
