Detroit Lean Manufacturing Manager Overview:

The Lean Manufacturing Manager, to be located in the Detroit, Michigan area, will be primarily responsible for implementing lean principles to increase the effectiveness of company operations. The main function of this role is to generate a culture of continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes within the company. The successful metro Detroit area Lean Manufacturing Manager will improve quality, maximize throughput, and reduce costs. Based in the greater Detroit, Michigan area, the Lean Manufacturing Manager will require collaboration across all levels of the organization. Ultimately, the Lean Manufacturing Manager will prioritize and manage resources to execute improvement project in order to eliminate roadblocks to company success.

Detroit Lean Manufacturing Manager Job Opening:

  • The Lean Manufacturing Manager will develop and assemble improvement teams in order to ensure company projects are executed in a timely manner.
  • An important aspect of this job requires building strategic relationships in order to facilitate goal achievement.
  • This job will act as a trainer and coach in order to mentor team members on lean philosophy, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The Lean Manufacturing Manager will directly oversee lean champions to carry out continuous improvement goals.
  • This job also involves communication on program progress success to company leadership and stakeholders.

Lean Manufacturing Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

  • This job requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (at least 7-10 years) in manufacturing leadership is of the utmost importance for this role.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodology (at least 5 years) such as Kaizen, DMAIC, VSM, or TPI is required for this job.
  • This job requires a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • A positive attitude and an ability to think outside of the box is important for this role.
