Newark Benefits Specialist Overview:
The Newark Benefits Specialist will oversee employee benefits, healthcare enrollment, retirement savings plans, and all compliance in these areas. He or she will also lead new hire orientation and set up benefit plans for new employees. The Newark Benefits Specialist will work closely with the HR department and will report to the Director of Human Resources. The Newark Benefits Specialist will work to ensure that employees have strong plans and compensation befitting their position and their work.
Newark Benefits Specialist Job Opening
- The Newark Benefits Specialist will oversee all employee benefit programs including retirement, health insurance, life insurance, disability, and employee health and wellness programs.
- Perform research to ensure compensation and benefits remain competitive with local and industry competitors.
- The Newark Benefits Specialist will ensure that all
benefit functions are performed in compliance with appropriate laws. - Process leave of absence requests and paperwork for disability claims.
- Provide documents and information to state government regarding unemployment claims.
Benefits Specialist (Newark Area) Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, human resources, or a closely related area.
- A minimum of five to seven years of in
a similar benefits or human resources role. - Familiar with Human Resource Information Systems software.
- A deep understanding of state and federal employment laws.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- A proven team player, able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Able to manage several priorities and tasks at once.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and other standard office software.
