Our client, a distinguished leader in the electrical industry, is actively seeking a dedicated and seasoned Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to join their dynamic team in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. This key role will provide guidance and expertise in implementing and improving lean manufacturing processes, advancing Operational Excellence in the plant, and driving Continuous Improvement initiatives.
CI Manager Job Opening Responsibilities:
- Lead the Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence function at the plant.
- Collaborate with plant leaders to advance the use of lean manufacturing tools for continuous improvement.
- Create, launch, and improve methodologies for Daily Management with embedded Problem-Solving across the plant.
- Lead Kaizen, OEE, and other improvement events, ensuring integration with Daily Management and Problem-Solving, Leader Standard Work, and Layered Process Audits.
- Train and coach teams to utilize lean tools such as Rules In Use, real-time problem-solving, and A3 thinking.
- Create, organize, and manage multiple projects, ensuring proper use of resources and timely completion of objectives.
- Assess existing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction through waste elimination.
- Pursue continuous self-improvement to enhance knowledge and skills in lean thinking and implementation.
CI Manager Job Opening Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a scientific field, or an appropriate business field.
- 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in operations management roles in a lean manufacturing setting. Experience implementing lean systems is essential.
- Lean certification, such as Toyota Production System or Lean Expert certification, is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of business process improvement principles, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
- Demonstrated project management skills. PMI certification is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a union environment.
- Demonstrated success in lean continuous improvement and a proven ability to drive measurable results in a production environment.
