Springfield Senior Design Engineer Overview:

The Senior Design Engineer will be primarily responsible for the design and development of new products. This individual will be developing concept plans, designing the products, specifying tolerance settings, and other duties similar to product designing at the Springfield site.  As well as designing new products, this Springfield, Massachusetts job candidate will develop modifications to existing products that will enhance the quality. The individual will be designing the features for the products, specifying materials needed and used, and will develop detailed drawings of new concepts.

Senior Design Engineer Job Opening:

• The Senior Design Engineer will oversee projects assigned to less experienced engineers to guide them and give tips and tricks along the way.
• Keep an eye on new developments that are brewing in the market by reviewing competitor’s designs and new products at the Springfield, Massachusetts site.
• The Senior Design Engineer will analyze company ability to meet requirements and/or requests and make certain recommendations to management team.
• Maintain a relationship with other departments of the organization as well as the engineering sections in Springfield, Massachusetts.
• The Senior Design Engineer will contribute to sales personnel by providing assistance to customers about products and help Quality Assurance with assistance for technical support for vendors.
• Will be asked to perform other jobs as required for the Springfield, Massachusetts site.

Senior Design Engineer (Springfield Area) Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Engineering is required for this job.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred for this job.
• At least 5 years of job experience in an engineering environment will be required with experience in a manufacturing environment being preferred.
• Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Visual acuity to details in products along with the drawings for them and computer screen data is a must.
• The physical ability to work and move around in a factory like environment.
• Must have design engineering job experience.
• Knowledge and experience with systems including:
  • “SolidWorks”
  • CAD will be a plus for this job.
