Site Manager Summary

A market leader in third party MRO services is seeking a Site Manager for a client site in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The Site Manager will oversee and perform the MRO functions for the client on site. Birmingham Site Manager Overview:

The Site Manager shall administer the procurement and sourcing functions of the indirect material inventory while staying within a budget somewhere between $1 million and $6 million. The position monitors and records the daily storeroom functions and supervises the MRO logistics, ensuring that inventory levels are kept at suitable benchmarks, materials and parts are purchased and delivered on time, and that those materials and distributed as they are needed. The Site Manager should improve the inventory management practices to reduce costs for the client. The Site Manager should be devoted to meeting client savings goals and exceed them.

Birmingham Site Manager Job Opening:

  • Comply with, and ensure that all reports comply with the safety and security measures on the site.
  • Oversee the many aspects of the storeroom and MRO functions including supply chain, purchasing, receiving, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Create operational goals and benchmarks and create a detailed strategy to meet those goals.
  • Attend all appropriate meetings with colleagues from the client company in order to identify issues and rectify them. Work to understand the client and foster an enjoyable and profitable relationship for both parties.
  • Perform and oversee purchasing to ensure all practices are cost effective, staying in constant communication with the client.
  • Partner with senior management to create strategies and plans for the site.
  • Keep track of inventory levels and identify the maximum and minimum acceptable level for each object in the storeroom.
  • Prepare reports analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly purchasing functions.
  • Find opportunities for savings in order to solidify the client relationship.
  • Train and supervise employees to perform all necessary functions of the position.
  • Schedule employees and oversee the time off calendar. Provide daily assignments.
  • Monitor employee performance, documenting errors and rectifying them.
  • Periodically meet with employees to reinforce positive behaviors and improve the shortcomings. Set yearly goals and ensure they meet much.
Site Manager (Birmingham Area) Job Requirements:
  • A four year degree from a university or college.
  • CPM/APICs experience is preferable.
  • A minimum of five years purchasing MRO supplies and a demonstrated ability to use a commodity centric strategy.
  • Thorough understanding of MRO materials and uses.
  • Exceptional proficiency with computers and basic office/purchasing softwares.
  • Previous experience leading sourcing initiatives.
  • Able to frequently walk and stand, carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Tolerant of heat, cold, dust, (safe) chemicals, mineral fibers, and varying climates.

  • A two or four year degree from an accredited institution or certificate from a vocational program would be preferable for this job.
  • At least seven years of maintenance experience.
  • At least four years of management experience.
  • Experience administering a preventative maintenance system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft office suite of programs, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A high level of technical aptitude.
  • Able to read, interpret, and analyze technical documents.
  • Able to explain technical concepts to personnel with less technical understanding.
  • Able to manage several projects simultaneously, meeting benchmarks and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
