This role requires an individual who can manage complex projects remotely with a readiness to travel domestically up to 60% of the time, especially at the outset.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment within capital projects.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of process plant design in partnership with key operational teams.
  • Develop initial designs, detailed plans, and layouts for assigned projects, ensuring they transition from feasibility studies to fully realized installations.
  • Collaborate with project managers to deliver project components safely, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Manage the comprehensive scope of assigned projects from design through to operational handover, including all associated documentation and training materials.
  • Regularly update and maintain design best practices in collaboration with the technical office.
  • Create and track schedules, ensuring the engineering team adheres to deadlines and performance metrics.
  • Participate in project design phases, offering expertise and ensuring adherence to the company’s project execution manual and checklists.

Qualifications:

  • An Engineering Degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering roles related to capital equipment projects, preferably within a continuous process manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in operations and executing multiple projects.
  • Expert knowledge in the design of piping systems and industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering plan drawings and experience with various types of industrial equipment installations.

  • Handling all project phases covering new and modified lines and processes from initial concept through installation and commissioning.

Electrical Engineer Job Opening Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Project planning and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering design teams.
  • Cross-functional work with other departments and engineering disciplines to design and detail industrial processes, motor controls, instrumentation, and power systems that meet business requirements.
  • Assisting with the design of new facilities and systems from conceptual design, specifications, budgeting, scheduling, and commissioning.
  • Producing single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and capital estimates while identifying utility requirements, sizes, and spacing.
  • Creating wiring diagrams from vendor drawings and control cable lists.
  • Designing, specifying, and commissioning electrical systems while generating engineering documentation and drawings.
  • Conducting engineering analysis and calculations, troubleshooting existing systems, and optimizing systems to meet all customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Supporting installation, startup, and commissioning activities for packaging systems.
  • Coordinating with third-party contractors and firms to gather necessary information for completing project design.
  • Providing construction support to contractors with timely responses to RFIs and construction issues.

Electrical Engineer Job Opening Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineering Certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in power system design for industrial manufacturing environments.
  • At least two years of experience developing motor controls programming for PLC controls and electrical drives preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to understand process flow diagrams and P&ID’s.
  • Ability to conduct audits of existing facilities.
  • Ability to perform Arc Flash Analyses and provide training for plant personnel.
  • Willingness to travel for field investigations of existing power systems and to commission new equipment, controls, and interfacing utility equipment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with root cause analysis required.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical/controls knowledge.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and self-discipline to manage concurrent work across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.

This full-time position comes with a salary range of $90,000 to $125,000. The role requires travel (30%), with health care and retirement benefits provided.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
    • Alternatively, another 2 or 4-year degree with at least 7 years of related experience.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Proficiency in identifying design flaws, recognizing design commonality, and proposing robust solutions.
    • Knowledge in programming, hydraulics, electronics, statistics, material strength, product durability, and serviceability.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to foster positive relationships with peers and customers.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.

  • Certifications:
