The Detroit Cost Estimator will handle the estimation process in order to maximize profit and account for the areas of cost, time, and the technology. The Detroit Cost Estimator will work with stake holders to determine the project scope and requirements. The Cost Estimator will develop a timeline for the proposal process. The Cost Estimator will work to develop the most accurate proposals, and will ensure that all proposal personnel understand the estimation process.
Detroit Cost Estimator Job Opening
- The Detroit Cost Estimator will lead a team of personnel through the proposal process to generate estimates for clients.
- Sets requirements and milestones for the proposal process.
- Guides the proposal process in order the meet all milestones on schedule.
- Detroit Cost Estimator gathers information from past proposals, projects, and other information to inform similar proposals to inform the estimate.
- Work closely with the engineering proposal team to share information in order to develop accurate estimates.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are consulted so that all risks are considered and that the scope is properly defined.
- The Detroit Cost Estimator will deliver the estimate alongside numerical and descriptive information that explains the details of the estimate.
- Handles the process of changing estimates and record all estimate documentation.
Cost Estimator (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in the field of engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least eight year of estimation experience.
- Excellent ability to analyze technical information.
- Strong research skills, able to provide clear and concise reports on research.
- Able to develop strategic plans.
- Detail-oriented mindset.
- Understand the principles electronics systems integration.
- Experience managing projects in a testing/research setting.
- Familiar with the theory and practice of electrical data acquisition.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to persuade and motivate others.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project.
- Familiarity with automotive test cells would be preferable.
- Possession of a Project Management Professional certification.
