The Athens Plant Controller will be in charge of managing the finances and accounting for all of the plant. He or she will be setting principles and procedures that will be based off of cost reports and expenditures. • The Plant Controller will first and foremost be in charge of handling the direct materials inventory at the Athens, Georgia plant.
• The role will involve a great deal of inventory control, including controlling overhead spending.
• The position will need to analyze capital plans and variances in costs in order to find ways to save the organization money.
• The Plant Controller will be using accounting principles to figure out manufacturing costs.
• The role will involve assembling reports on a monthly basis and recording data concerning costs.
• The job will conduct budgeting on a yearly basis.
• The Plant Controller will need to help set goals and lead the finance and accounting teams to accomplish them.
• The role will involve solving problems of accounting and costs.
• The position will also be heading up the management of indirect and MRO inventories and controlling those costs.
• The Plant Controller will utilize SOX in order to manage the budget and costing for the Athens plant.

Plant Controller (Athens Area) Job Requirements: 

• A 4 year Bachelor’s degree is required for this job.
• At least 3 to 5 years experience in an Accounting or Controlling job.
• Knowledge of SOX is strongly preferred for this job.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Job experience in automotive manufacturing environments.
• Great attention to detail.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite, with an added emphasis on Excel.
