We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support strategic procurement activities, supplier relationships, and purchasing operations. This role will help ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, products, and services while working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to meet business requirements.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Purchasing
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with organizational requirements.
- Source materials, products, and services from qualified suppliers.
- Evaluate pricing, quality, delivery schedules, and overall supplier performance.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to achieve favorable purchasing outcomes.
Supplier Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, cost, and delivery.
- Identify opportunities to develop and diversify the supplier base.
- Support supplier evaluations and qualification activities.
Procurement Operations
- Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Monitor orders from placement through delivery to ensure requirements are met.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve purchasing, inventory, and delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Cost & Process Improvement
- Analyze purchasing data and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support initiatives designed to improve procurement efficiency and reduce overall costs.
- Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Several years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and negotiation practices.
- Proven ability to evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing or ERP systems.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Certified Purchasing Professional or similar procurement certification.
What the Role Offers
- Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year.
