We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Geneticist to provide specialized expertise in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with genetic and hereditary conditions. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
Position Responsibilities
Clinical Evaluation & Diagnosis
- Evaluate patients with suspected or confirmed genetic conditions.
- Obtain and interpret detailed medical, family, and genetic histories.
- Assess clinical findings and determine appropriate diagnostic approaches.
- Interpret genetic and genomic testing results and communicate findings effectively.
Patient & Family Counseling
- Provide clear, compassionate counseling to patients and families regarding genetic conditions and test results.
- Discuss inheritance patterns, recurrence risks, treatment considerations, and available options.
- Help patients and families make informed healthcare decisions.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, genetic counselors, laboratory professionals, and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute specialized genetic expertise.
- Communicate recommendations effectively with clinical teams.
Clinical & Program Development
- Support the development and improvement of clinical genetics services.
- Stay current with advances in genetics, genomics, diagnostic technologies, and evidence-based practices.
- Contribute to clinical protocols, quality initiatives, and educational programs as appropriate.
Prerequisites
- Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent).
- Completion of appropriate residency and fellowship training in medical genetics or a related specialty.
- Strong knowledge of clinical genetics, genomics, and genetic testing.
- Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Board certification or board eligibility in Clinical Genetics/Medical Genetics.
- Additional certification or specialized training in a relevant genetics subspecialty.
