Traverse City Quality Engineer Overview:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading quality improvements and insuring process controls are kept to high standards for new and existing processes and products. This job will provide customer support, new project reviews, and customer root cause troubleshooting and visits for clients in the Traverse City, Michigan area. The Quality Engineer will also provide supplier support, APQP requirements, and supplier root cause troubleshooting and assessments. Internal support to the purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and sales departments is expected of the Quality Engineer.

• This job is responsible for facilitating product launch activities from the Traverse City facility.
• This job is also responsible for project management and advance quality planning for new product/program launches.
• This role will conduct contract reviews, process controls, design and manufacturing reviews, and supplier requirement reviews for the manufacturing and quality departments.
• This role will also manage control plans, traceability, gage selection, capability studies and inspections for the manufacturing and quality departments.
• This position will be expected to maintain good rapport and communication with customers, field representatives, team members and other departments.

Quality Engineer (Traverse City Area) Job Requirements:

• The Quality Engineer must have a bachelors degree from an accredited university, an engineering degree or related field of study is preferred.
• This job requires three to five years of experience related to engineering, quality assurance or quality control.
• This job also requires experience in problem solving tools and techniques with only minimal supervision.
• The Quality Engineer must have experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma tools, project management tools and statistical process analysis and control.
• The Quality Engineer will be expected to exhibit advanced product quality planning and project management experience.
• This job requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
