Seattle Purchasing Manager Overview:
The Seattle Purchasing Manager leads the purchasing team and monitors, manages, and drives the efforts of all purchasing operations on a day-to-day basis. The Purchasing Manager is the lead buyer in high impact spending categories at the Seattle site. The Purchasing Manager will ensure that current purchasing procedures are upheld while working to improve procedures and practices to save money. The Purchasing Manager will direct, mentor, coach, and provide oversight for the purchasing team.

- The Seattle Purchasing Manager must supervise and direct the day to day operations of the purchasing staff, manage categorical spending, oversee purchase and order processes, cost control, and manage supplier relationships.
- The Purchasing Manager create, enact, and maintain appropriate policies, procedures, and strategies in order to procure objects in a timely process within costs and spending matrices.
- Create and enact a set of standards for internal audits in order to standardize purchasing procedures for various jobs.
- The Seattle Purchasing Manager will collaborate with the Senior Operations Manager in order to develop goals and create new strategies in order to improve department policies, practices, and procedures.
- The Seattle Purchasing Manager must advise in the staffing practices for the procurement team. Provide assistance during the hiring process at the Seattle, Washington location.
- Perform yearly evaluations and present those evaluations to the senior Operations Manager for various job orders.
Purchasing Manager (Seattle Area) Job Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required for this job.
- A master’s degree holder would be preferable for this job.
- A minimum of seven yeas of experience performing procurement duties (sourcing, negotiating, and managing contacts).
- Previous job experience working in a purchasing role directly in a manufacturing facility.
- A minimum of five years of familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- A minimum of five years of job experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Excellent project management and change management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent management skills, able to motivate others and build a cohesive team while on the job.
- Willing to travel outside of Seattle, Washington over a quarter of the time.
- Good computer skills, able to use Windows operating system and Microsoft Office suite of programs.
