Ann Arbor Quality Engineer Overview:

The Quality Engineer will be an extension of the company’s customer-centric values. He or she will be issuing compliance audits for company products and trying to figure out ways to prevent future issues with them at the Ann Arbor site. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will issue corrective actions for problems that customers have with the products and for products that don’t meet TS-16949 compliance. This is a very hands-on job. Description:

The Outside Sales Engineer must be able to sell company products in an assigned territory. He or she will need to be able to interface with clients, forecast new sales opportunities, answer product inquiries and give advice on products.

Main responsibilities:

  • This position will need to answer requests of information on the product, such as price, application, and service information
  • The Outside Sales Engineer will need to work with the Sales Manager to come up with a business development plan to help grow the territory
  • This position will require the ability to find and execute sales on Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and automotive Tier companies
  • Outstanding Sales Engineers will need come up with new application ideas that can keep up with market demand and collaborate with the Sales Manager and engineering teams to execute those new application ideas
  • It is essential that the Outside Sales Engineer has full knowledge of products that he/she is selling
  • Provide customers with quotations on prices
  • Work with other departments on certain sales projects
  • Be able to travel extensively by car (80%)
  • Occasional air travel for client visits and training exercises
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Perform additional duties as instructed

Base qualifications:

  • Be knowledgable of various tolerances, uses of force, torque, etc.
  • Electric and mechanical system knowledge is a big plus for this position
  • The Outside Sales Engineer will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills

Educational Requirements:

International Logistics Analyst (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
  • A four year degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a position involving logistics, international transportation, or imports/exports.
  • An good level of familiarity with regulations for imports/exports, free trade agreement terms, labels, and other such details.
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills, able to find creative solutions to differing problems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of programs, especially Excel.
  • Great communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working with a team, able to develop professional relationships with personnel internally and externally.
  • Strong ability to organize and meet deadlines.
  • Proven history of implementing continuous improvement policies.
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Security software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with metal building products/consumer home goods is a plus.
