Detroit Supplier Quality Engineer Overview:
The Detroit Supplier Quality Engineer will be improving the quality of the raw material that comes from suppliers. He or she will also need to be issuing the appropriate actions to correct quality issues and facilitate preventative actions of future quality issues. This will be important to the company’s product quality on the whole, as it is contingent on the quality of the raw material with which the company uses to manufacture its goods. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be a part of the operations department and will be reporting to the Vice President of Operations at the greater Detroit site.

- The Supplier Quality Engineer will conduct quality improvement projects based on the data acquired from the company’s MRB system for this job.
- The Detroit, Michigan role must report supplier quality improvements to the management and decision makers every few weeks.
- The position must uphold a database of approved suppliers that the company interacts with in order to maintain that quality material continues to be supplied to the company.
- The Supplier Quality Engineer must run compliance audits on all raw material that enters the facility.
- The role must review all Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) to make sure assist in the company’s quality processes.

Supplier Quality Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A 4 Year Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, preferably in engineering.
- At least 10 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing and machining environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to be a point of contact between departments.
