- The Project Manager will create, follow, and oversee the project timeline.
- Partner and communicate with colleagues at all levels of the company and external organization including customers and suppliers to guarantee steps are completed on time and within the bounds of the Detroit plant budget.
- The Project Manager will manage project personnel and lead them to complete individual phases of projects such as technical studies, checking specifications and plans, and testing products.
- Organizes the activities related to scheduling, technical developments, and resolution at the Detroit site.
- The Project Manager will line up technical efforts with the products.
- Ensure that the project keeps within the bounds of the budget at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- The Project Manager will perform other functions as necessary and assigned.
Project Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree from a college or university in a field related to business or engineering, or a level of equivalent experience with a high school degree. Master’s of Business or Engineering would be a strong plus for this job.
- Seven plus years of job experience in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with the automotive fastener market is a strong plus for this job.
- A job history of experience and progressive advancement through program management and/or engineering positions.
- Experience with the principles of lean manufacturing, train and certified individuals preferred.
- Familiarity with the fastener industry including but not limited to common concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Utilizes past learning experiences to plan and evaluate strategies to meet goals.
- Able to manage and complete a multitude of tasks.
- A creative mindset that finds it easy to think laterally.
- Self-motivated and eager to take initiative on tasks.
- Exceptional communication skills in person, in writing, and over the phone.
- A job history of solving problems.
- Past job experience leading teams that are cross functional.
- Exceptional time management strategies.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Powerpoint, and Word).
- Able to solve problems in a constructive manner.
- 50%-75% travel outside of Detroit, Michigan some international travel may be required for this job.
