Columbus Process Safety Engineer Overview:
The main job of the Process Safety Engineer is to provide safety support at the greater Columbus plant. He or she will regularly need to plan out safety drills and tests to determine best practices while at the plant. The Process Safety Engineer must take into account policies, processes, personnel, and equipment when analyzing plant safety. The Process Safety Engineer will need to educate plant employees on proper safety procedures. For this job, the Process Safety Engineer will not manage any employee directly, but he or she will report directly to the Columbus Plant Manager.
Columbus Process Safety Engineer Job Opening
- The Process Safety Engineer will spearhead all safety processes and initiatives at the Columbus site through testing and analyses.
- Analyses at the Columbus plant will be both quantitative and qualitative.
- Work with teams cross-functionally across multiple departments, including Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, Finance, and Operations to bring optimal safety to the plant.
- Establish SOP for safety at the Columbus plant.
- Work alongside Engineering Leads and Site Managers to instill safety processes.
- There is little to no travel outside of metro Columbus, Ohio for this job.
- The Process Safety Engineer will take on any additional jobs as necessary.
Process Safety Engineer (Columbus Area) Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry is required for this job.
- At least five years of experience in a safety engineering role is required for this job.
- Kaizen certification is a plus for this job.
