Detroit Production Supervisor Overview:
The Detroit Production Supervisor will monitor, direct, and develop production personnel day to day. The Production Supervisor will ensure that proper procedures and practices are being followed on the production floor. The Detroit Production Supervisor will provide feedback to personnel to improve their professional development. During process changes and new product launches, the Production Supervisor will provide assistance and/or lead in trainings.
Detroit Production Supervisor Job Opening
- The Detroit Production Supervisor will provide direction to skilled and non-skilled personnel.
- Develop daily assignments for non-skilled operators.
- Monitor production personnel and ensure that all work rules are follows, provide corrective actions as necessary.
- Lead meetings at the start of the shift to establish goals for the day.
- The Detroit Production Supervisor will maintain production recording systems.
- Ensure finished goods are backflushed and assist with the cycle count as needed.
- Drive production to ensure production standards are met at each workstation.
- The Detroit Production Supervisor will train, coach, and develop operators.
- Select leaders to train other staff.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to improve operator and process efficiency.
- The Detroit Production Supervisor will serve as a leader in 5s efforts.
- Ensure that the plant floor remains clean and safe.
- Perform quality checks at all work stations. Check scrap totes, make process changes to equipment, and notify maintenance personnel of ongoing problems.
Production Supervisor (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- Associates degree or vocational degree would be preferable for this job.
- At least five years of experience in rubber, metal, or plastic manufacturing.
- Proven history of deploying process improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing union employees and working in a collective bargaining environment is a necessity.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of Programs such as word, Excel, PowerPoint, and outlook.
- Experience with QAD software.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to motivate production personnel.
- Familiar with the general principles of manufacturing safety.
- Able to manage several projects simultaneously.
- A positive demeanor and outlook.
- Able to lead trainings and presentations.
