Executive Director Job Opening Job Description:

The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, oversee daily operations, and ensure the implementation of the Reggio Emilia philosophy throughout the school. Executive Director Job Opening Essential Duties:

  • Lead the implementation and integration of the Reggio Emilia philosophy across all facets of the preschool’s operations.
  • Inspire and motivate staff, parents, and community members to embrace and support the school’s mission and vision.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool, including finances and staffing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to sustain a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive culture among staff members.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring, support, and professional development for staff, aligning with the Reggio Emilia approach.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and implement developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Reggio Emilia approach, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal learning outcomes for each child.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with parents, families, and the wider community.
  • Organize community-focused events, workshops, and other parent and family engagement activities.

Executive Director Job Opening Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in early childhood education, or a Bachelor’s in any subject area with 15 semester credit hours in early childhood education (advanced degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Proficient in state licensing regulations, staffing, enrollment, and budget management.
  • Proven experience in hiring, developing, and retaining staff.
  • Strong commitment to fostering positive relationships with families and the community.
  • Understanding of and experience with the Reggio Emilia philosophy and its implementation is preferred.

This full-time position reports to the School’s Board of Directors and offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of the preschool, making a lasting impact on the lives of young children and their families. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
