Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Job Opening

  • Staff the counter and interact with vendors and customers at the Detroit warehouse.
  • Field customer complaints and questions, forwarding complaints or questions to the proper personnel as necessary.
  • Answer phones at the warehouse and take orders.
  • Enter orders into the company database.
  • Utilize active listening to understand customers’ needs and provide advice when appropriate.
  • The Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Member will keep counter and front of the warehouse clean and presentable.
  • Document any damage items and notify procurement or quality staff.
  • The Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Member must ensure all goods sold are properly stored and are not visibly defective.
  • Updating stock levels and ensuring that stock levels are accurate.
  • The Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Member will serve as an advocate for the customer when problems arise.
  • Perform deliveries using the company delivery van as necessary.
  • Ensure goods are properly stacked in the van before deliveries.
  • The Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Member must keep the delivery van need and tidy by sweeping it out before and after deliveries.
  • Double check orders to ensure the proper products are being sent the the customer before deliveries.
  • Confirm orders with customers upon delivery.
  • The Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Member will document all deliveries in the company system with the time left, time delivered, and time returned.
  • The Detroit Warehouse Counter Staff Member will properly utilize downtime to check stock, organize goods, and keep space clean.
Warehouse Counter Staff (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is needed for this job.
  • Able to operate a computer and use software programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and company database systems.
  • A driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Past experience with a lighting wholesaler/distributor would be a serious plus.
  • Good communication skills with personnel at every level of an organization, especially customers.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as they arise throughout the warehouse.
