The Die Designer will come up with plans for single stage dies at the metro Ann Arbor, Michigan manufacturing location. The Die Designer will need to be knowledgeable on several manufacturing processes, including forming, extrusion, stamping, and forging. Additionally, he or she will need to be able to read blueprints for product specifications, as the company prides itself on delivering the perfect product and delivering a high degree of customer service. The Die Designer will not be in charge of mentoring or training any other employees, but will be reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager at the greater Ann Arbor, Michigan area.

- The first job of the Die Designer is to design manufacturing die sets for the company’s greater Ann Arbor, Michigan manufacturing plant.
- Compare die and part sketches with models of the dies to confirm precision and die design correctness.
- The Die Designer will be tasked with crafting drawings of each die set, discerning various dimensions and contours of each die.
- The Die Designer will contribute to plant tidiness and maintenance.
- Leverage different design software, such as CAD or CATIA, to correctly design new dies.
- There is little travel outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan required for this job.
- Take on any additional duties as necessary.
Die Designer (Ann Arbor Area) Job Requirements:
- At least five years of experience in a die design role is required for this job.
- Extrusion, stamping, forging, and pressing experience are all preferred for this job.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field is a plus for this job.
