Washington, D.C. Director of Procurement Job Opening 

  • Lead and develop sourcing strategies that meet budgetary, supply, and quality goals for production. 
  • Create processes to evaluate supplier capabilities and performance.  
  • Evaluate and develop individual product line sourcing strategies that align with market assessments.

A global tier-one automotive supplier that is undergoing growth and expansion is currently conducting an executive search that would fill a Purchasing Director job opening in Detroit, Michigan. The purchasing Director will be an integral part of the organization’s expansion and increase in business, as he or she will be responsible for managing all of the purchasing functions for the global company while operating out of the greater Detroit, Michigan plant. Detroit Purchasing Director Overview:

The Purchasing Director will take charge of all purchasing responsibility for the North American division of this global organization while working out of the greater Detroit, Michigan plant. He or she will maintain all of the supplier contracts and will be leveraging relationships with vendors and suppliers in order to cut costs for the organization and improve the flow of supply. Ultimately, the Purchasing Director sets the strategy for the Purchasing department, leading Buyers and Procurement Agents and mentoring them on industry best practices for purchasing. He or she will be hiring, training, and terminating employees based on performance. The Director of Purchasing will be the head of the purchasing department and will report directly to the executive management of the North American division of the company.

Detroit Purchasing Director Job Opening

  • The Purchasing Director will adhere to all company policies and procedures when setting the purchasing strategy for the company.
  • This role will assess the internal BOM of purchasing and policies to cut down on material spend.
  • The Purchasing Director will frequently interface with suppliers to set contracts and purchasing agreements for the organization.
  • The Purchasing Director will rarely have to travel outside of metro Detroit, Michigan for this job.
Purchasing Director (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in purchasing and setting purchasing strategy for the organization.
  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business is required.
  • An MBA or a Master’s of Supply Chain (MSM).
