Flint CNC Programmer Job Opening:
- The CNC Programmer will create and enact a system to train, evaluate, and foster the growth of both new and longtime employees.
- Assess the company’s current pay structure for machining staff and create a pay level matrix with objective criteria to place individuals at different levels of that structure.
- The CNC Programmer will keep the machine program files maintained and organized.
- Stay current with industry trends in order to recommend new equipment to improve the machining processes.
- The CNC Programmer will assist estimators on the manufacturability and labor needed to produce parts that clients will require.
- Evaluate CAD models and blueprints to determine the best way to create the desired part.
- The CNC Programmer will use machine coding and/or CAM software to translate 2D or 3D geometry.
- Create new programs from scratch and improve existing ones to increase efficiency.
- The CNC Programmer will process calculations needed for programming.

CNC Programmer (Flint Area) Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required for this job.
- Minimum of ten years of experience working with CAM programming software (MasterCAM preferred), CNC programming, and set up a many types of machining centers.
- Ability to perform all CNC related functions such as creating tooling, fixtures, and components; machine set up; and exceptional programming skills.
- Proficient reading and understanding dimensions and tolerancing requirements from a blueprint is required for this job.
- A solid math skillset, specifically algebra and trigonometry.
- Rational and logical problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated personality and an attentiveness for organization.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with little supervision or direction.
- Journeyman Tool-and-Die Maker certification is a strong plus for this job.
