We are seeking a Flight Assembly Machinist to support our client’s high-performance mobile manufacturing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong machining skills and a passion for innovation in packaging automation. You will play a key part in fabricating and modifying parts for our patented mobile production system, working closely with engineering and operations to ensure precision and efficiency.
Position Responsibilities
Machining and Fabrication
- Fabricate and modify parts based on technical drawings and specifications
- Perform setups and operate CNC mills, manual mills, lathes, and drill presses
- Interpret complex technical drawings and instructions with precision
Assembly and Upgrades
- Support assembly efforts for Sojo Flight™ mobile rovers
- Install modifications, materials, and upgrades to machines and subassemblies
- Provide feedback and updates to engineering through accurate redlining of drawings
Maintenance and Shop Support
- Lubricate, clean, and service shop equipment as needed
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace at all times
Collaboration and Documentation
- Work alongside engineering and operations teams to enhance quality and performance
- Follow schedules and procedures while recording updates in internal systems
Prerequisites
- 2–5 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Proficiency with hand tools and machining equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong sense of ownership and urgency
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Valid Driver’s License
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- Forklift Certification
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 General Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards
