A reputable company in Reno is hoping to hire a high-energy plant manager to improve their manufacturing processes and help maintenance, quality, production, and all plant operations.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Manage plant operations to optimize quality control, production, and maintenance
  • Work the department leaders in order to reach manufacturing goals in a timely manner that is also cost-effective for the plant
  • Put cost effective systems in place in order to control capital, budgets, wages, manpower, and resources in order to meet manufacturing objectives
  • Oversee the capital asset maintenance to allow for most efficient upkeep of company machines and products
  • Formalize plant performance in terms of production and quality
  • Oversee current plant equipment and provisions while keeping repairs and replacements in mind by using preventative maintenance
  • Serve as a leader to the plant workers and production supervisors and aid in their training processes
  • Organize the shop floor and maintain plant cleanliness among plant personnel
  • Compile employee reviews based on their performance, work ethic, and production
  • Lead and schedule plant meetings for all plant workers in order to optimize workplace communication and coordinate goals on production, maintenance, and safety
  • Other duties as assigned

Required experience and education:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree, preferably a BSME or another engineering field
  • At least 5 years in a plant or general manager role in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of engineering or technology methods that can improve company production
  • Experience adhering to manufacturing quality systems and standards
  • Experience using process improvement techniques, such as six sigma, kaizen, or kanban
  • Experience with business principles, as well as budgeting and leadership
  • Experience corresponding with Human Resources
  • Knowledge and experience working with machines and tooling systems are big plusses
  • Microsoft Office suite (excel, word, powerpoint, outlook) knowledge
