Detroit Senior Engineer Overview:
The Detroit Senior Engineer will lead in the design and validation of components and assembled products. The Detroit Senior Engineer will receive customer specifications and develop product designs in order to fulfill customer needs. The Detroit Senior Engineer will also interface with clients to improve designs in order to better suit their needs. The Detroit Senior Engineer will lead projects and provide engineering expertise on other projects. Additionally, the Senior Engineer will serve as a resource and mentor for more junior engineers.
Detroit Senior Engineer Job Opening:
- The Detroit Senior Engineer will receive specifications and needs for equipment in order to develop designs for components and assembled equipment.
- Perform design and validation processes on products within customers’ specifications.
- Ensure that all components of products also meet specifications and all quality standards.
- The Detroit Senior engineer will lead in the evaluation and testing for products and components to check and ensure compliance with certification agencies’ standards.
- Lead and complete individual design projects as directed by management.
- Lead engineering projects as assigned, develop project plans and assign tasks to complete objectives before deadlines.
- The Detroit Senior Engineer will work as a part of project teams and will perform assigned tasks to ensure the objectives are reached on time.
- Assist customer sales as necessary.
Senior Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
- At least five years of industrial experience designing HVAC products and components.
- Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs such as Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
- A deep familiarity with the theory and practice of mechanical design.
- Exceptional technical skills.
- Understanding of air conditioning and refrigeration systems would be preferable.
- Familiarity with specifications and standards common to the HVAC industry.
- Familiarity with APQP principles for manufacturing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in project management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and follow work plans.
