Atlanta Product Development Engineer Overview:
The Product Development Engineer will be based out of the R&D facility and will be tasked with assisting with the product development projects from concept all the way through until the product is launched. As part of this responsibility this job will expect a candidate to be capable in optimizing product designs in a research and development setting. This position will also be involved with collaborating with other cross-functional teams, such as the test lab, brand team, and operations, to research and understand market trends and customer wants. Travel across the United States, and to Mexico, or Asia may make up a small portion of this person’s time.
Atlanta Product Development Engineer Job Opening
- Support the Research and Development department in the development and optimization of new product designs.
- Develop prototypes and perform testing for both market focus groups as well as internal evaluations.
- Ensure that newly developed products meet company standards and function as intended.
- Assist the manufacturing department in all relevant documentation from initial concept through qualification. This may include trials, testing, and measurement related documentation.
- Ensure that product safety and performance standards are met.
- Travel as needed across the United States, Mexico, and Asia.
Product Development Engineer Atlanta Area Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field, although a BSME is preferred.
- At least 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment in the United States.
- Experience with at least one CAD software, although CREO and Solid Works is preferred.
- Experience with SAP software.
- Excellent communication skills, and the proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Experience evaluating and testing the quality of 3-D models in both CAD software and physical prototypes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with rapid prototyping using 3-d printing techniques.
