We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and healthcare projects. This role requires strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction costs, project specifications, and estimating practices, along with the ability to analyze project requirements and collaborate effectively with project teams.
Position Responsibilities
Electrical Estimating
- Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and healthcare electrical projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Develop competitive and accurate project bids.
Bid & Proposal Preparation
- Review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Evaluate project requirements, exclusions, and potential risks.
- Prepare clear and complete bid proposals.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Clarify scope, pricing, and technical requirements as needed.
- Maintain organized estimating documentation and project records.
Cost Analysis
- Analyze project costs, pricing trends, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify discrepancies or omissions in plans and specifications.
- Support accurate budgeting and forecasting throughout the estimating process.
Prerequisites
- Experience in electrical estimating, preferably within commercial construction.
- Familiarity with healthcare construction projects and electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical plans, specifications, codes, and construction practices.
- Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
- OSHA certification
- Electrical or construction-related certifications
- Project management or construction management certifications
